Tuuttiz and the Shadowmourne

Tuuttiz got Paragon’s first Shadowmourne legendary 14.4.2010. He was kind enough to answer some questions.

Q: Hello and welcome. Please introduce yourself.

Hey my name is Tuuttiz and I play a troll warrior in Paragon.

Q: How long have you been playing?

I’ve been playing wow from March 2005.

Q: What classes have you played and in which guilds?

I started playing an orc shaman called Tuutti on Burning Blade, and after a year of playing I migrated to Grim Batol and rerolled a troll priest. In the beginning of TBC I migrated to Twisting Nether to a guild called Knockout and played there until Sunwell came out. At that point Knockout merged with Miseria. The merge didn’t really work out so I migrated to Stormreaver and joined Sauna which cleared Sunwell up to Kil’jaeden. The guild stopped raiding before getting him down and after that I hung around in some guilds until I Paragon was created, and everyone migrated to Stormscale to join it.

Q: Why do you play a warrior now?

When we merged with Underground Kosmonavts they brought a shadow priest with them. At that point there was no need for two shadow priests and the only warrior we had in the guild couldn’t keep his attendance at 100%. I was able to get a guaranteed raid spot as a warrior so I rerolled Tuuttiz, a fury warrior and the old warrior rerolled a hunter.

Q How was Shadowmourne distributed in Paragon?

We had three guys with 100% attendance so our guild master Sejta rolled /roll 1-3 and I won.

Q: Do you think that was a fair way to give out a legendary?

Yeah I think the roll was fair and square.

Q: Did you have to give up on something (like loot) because you were the one to get the first Shadowmourne?

Yeah. In the beginning I wasn’t allowed to bid on any other loot and when I was allowed to, I had to pass the trinkets (read: Deathbringer’s Will)

Q: How did you like the long quest you had to go through on your way to getting Shadowmourne?

I gotta say it was a pain in the ass to do those quests, but on the other hand it was something unique compared to the other legendaries. The drop rate is kind of ok, so anyone who runs the instance weekly will get theirs in a reasonable amount of time.

Q: It took you fairly long to complete the legendary, why is that?

I was doing the Sindragosa step on the quest chain when the last wing of Icecrown opened. On that quest one must take 4 frost breaths from Sindragosa and survive the encounter. When you get the fourth breath the boss gets a 6 minute long debuff which can’t be reapplied before it runs out. We didn’t know how the quest would work in practice so we didn’t know about the 6 minute time limit either.

Our tank died early in the fight, and as I had tank gear on for the breaths I had to tank the boss. I got the last breath early in the fight and the debuff ran out in phase 3. Not wasting an attempt was more important to us than the legendary so I wasn’t able to complete the quest that week. Next week the hard modes opened and the attempts were even more important. We needed all the dps we could get so I couldn’t get to complete the quest that week either. Later we heard this happened to some other top guilds as well.

Q: How was the shard drop rate for you?

Once I had the quests done I got 1 from each 6 boss we had left. I think I got 9 the next week and after that only 3-6 per week for ages. It really pissed me off as we got double amount of shards in our alt raid where we didn’t even kill all the bosses on hard mode.

Q: Doing shitloads of dps with your new weapon now?

Hell yeah.

Q: Where do you think warriors are dps-wise compared to other classes?

I think they are doing pretty fine. Just haven’t been able to try out the max dps myself as I’m the only warrior in the raid (the sunder whore).

Q: What do you think of the Lich King encounter?

Lich King was easily the best encounter so far in wow. I especially liked it as I was playing a warrior: I was able to cleave away like mad.

Q: How do you comment the rumor that in phase 1 you tanked the ghouls more than the main tank? They say you almost needed a dedicated healer!

The ghouls were mostly on Iiris as he has more passive aoe; divine storm does way more than whirlwind.

Q: Are you going to continue playing warrior in Cataclysm?

I don’t really care what I play. I’ll probably continue on warrior if no one else is dying to play it and I don’t have to fight for my raid spot.

Q: Is there something else you’d like to say?

Yeah. I think it would have been cool to get the legendary before Lich King hard mode so it would have been useful progress-wise. Now it’s again another e-peen legendary which I’ll replace in the beginning of Cataclysm.

Thank you Tuutti for answering my questions.

If you don't appreciate them, that's fine. Our website, however, is about us, and we try to write stuff about us that people have shown interest in.

It's not surprising that there are a lot of interviews given the recent events. Note, however, that we've done exactly one of them - this one - the others are done by others, and just linked here since they concern us.

People seem to be interested in our opinions and thoughts, and we have no objections towards voicing them. It's not a quest for fame for the sake of fame, or growing our epeens, it's about serving people's interests. We don't mind talking about a game we love, and we aren't about to stop people from asking.

tbh i like those interviews it just let us know more about the mysterious guild Paragon. No i don't mean no1 knows who is paragon the guild what i mean is almost no1 knows who r paragon members.

if you asked any wow player about kungen he probably will write a book about him but if u asked about sejta devah synti lazeli and the others? no1 got clue ..

i rly want to see more detailed interviews about paragon members and i rly hope those guys make some active blogs or something that will help make the site even popular.

Honestly I'm not sure if bloodie was serious but it did sound like he was to me.

Being the one who has the responsibility of the site's content I'd love to hear people's opinion on pretty much everything which is related to the site.

This site is for its readers, not for us. Please help us improve it!

Grats to Tuuttiz.
I really don't know what bloodie wants to say.
You can Interview whoever you want. I could even Interview random People on the Street and ask them how they feel that Paragon got the World First.
I would post it on a random site in the Web and no one would care.

That Paragon gets more Interviews now doesn't mean they have to be Ensidia 2.0 or something like that. The World of Fans now has one more Guild to cheer on.
But thats just my Opinion...

Question about the shards. Are they distributed via the master looter or do they drop right to the person(s) that is/are on the quest chain?

I'm curious because I am to start collecting this week, and was wondering if others in the guild can go ahead and start doing the 3 other quest's that lead up to it, without the game splitting up the shards between us later...

Everyone who has done all the quests up to collecting the shards can see them when they drop. You'll get a normal loot window where you can need/greed on them.

Tuuttiz has grown so much since BWL times when he spend so much time afk:ing in toilet that we had to pull Razorgore without him once and left poor Tuuttiz(shaman then) observing fight behind the gate.
